Q: For what classes can you provide tutoring?
A: Dominic’s expertise is in all levels of math, as well as Physics. He can tutor students from elementary school through AP® Calculus AB (with the exception of Statistics). Though he is willing to work with anyone, his experience has been mostly with middle and high school students. Note: Dominic has not tutored AP® Calculus BC or AP® Physics for a few years, and might be a bit rusty. He is always willing to try and be of help, but cannot guarantee his expertise in all situations.
Katherine’s expertise is in all levels of Biology and Chemistry, through college level classes.
Q: Can I reschedule my appointment or add additional appointments if there’s an upcoming quiz or test?
A: Of course! We always try to make adjustments to our schedule in order to accommodate the most immediate needs of our students. Though we cannot always guarantee there will be available spots, we will always see if there’s a way.
Q: Can I just schedule appointments whenever I need help, rather than set up recurring appointments?
A: Yes. The benefits of recurring appointments are substantial (improved working relationship between tutor and student, a greater ability to tailor our tutoring to the particular student), so we always encourage regular weekly meetings. However, we understand that not everyone is in the position to meet weekly and we are happy to fit students in as needed if we are available.
Q: Do you do in-person tutoring?
A: Though we do not typically tutor in person, we will occasionally meet with students either at a library or in our home. Contact us for availability.
Q: What are your rates?
A: We charge $60/hr for standard 1:1 tutoring.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy if an appointment needs to either canceled or rescheduled. We appreciate your understanding given that tutoring is our primary means of earning money for our family.
Q: How does payment work?
A: We prefer to receive payment through Zelle using 510-512-2717 or dominiclipari@gmail.com, however PayPal using dominiclipari@gmail.com is also an option.
Q: How are appointments scheduled?
A: We currently use Google Calendar to schedule all appointments. These include the date/time as well as the Zoom meeting link.
